Inspiration
Several finches and chickadees visit the feeders outside my kitchen window. They’re a cheerful sight—and soundtrack—while I’m doing the dishes.
Artistic Process
I painted the pine needles with a small round brush rather than a grainer to keep them crisp and fine.
- Brushes: Round (0, 1, 2), 1" stroke.
- Paints: Cadmium Yellow, Lunar Black, Sap Green, Cadmium Red, Burnt Sienna.
Reflections
I’m not sure if this is a finch or a warbler, but I rarely see such bright yellow plumage in winter amid the pine greenery.
