Inspiration

Each summer morning, the cheerful songs of Baltimore Orioles greet me. A few males and females visit the feeder every day.

Artistic Process

Background: wet-on-wet with paper-towel blotting.

  • Brushes: Round (0, 1, 2); ¼" grainer.
  • Paints: Cadmium Orange, Lunar Black, Cadmium Yellow, Opera, Titanium White, Sap Green.

Reflections

I think this palette captures just how stunning an oriole’s colors truly are.
